House, formerly a public house, with attached stable and coach-house range.
House rebuilt 1838 as dated on plaque over door. Plaque also carries initials RM
and crude inscription "AoD 1575 IK". No distinctive features of former building
survive. Stable range is probably earlier C19. House is of coursed ironstone
rubble with Collyweston slate roof and brick chimneys to gables and centre. At
right-angles to road. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Right bay is blind; left bays have
3-light wooden casements with horizontal glazing bars to ground floor, and 3
3-light leaded casements to first floor, 2 with leading missing from central
lights. Top-lit flush-panelled door between left bays. C20 canted bay window
and 3-light wooden casement in gable end to road. All openings have wooden
lintels. Stable range is of ironstone ashlar. Part nearest house has 2 stable
doors and a 2-light window, all with stone lintels and keyblocks. Beyond are
another bay with board door, and small coach-house with simple entry.
