Late C18 front to C16/C17 timber framed building. 3 storeys and cellar.
The front of ashlar Bath stone on projecting plinth, panelled stringcourses
to 1st and 2nd floors. Small moulded cornice and blocking course. Hipped
slate roof.
The front divided into 2 parts by projecting pier through 3 storeys with
right hand flanking pier, stringcourses and cornice broken forward over
piers. The left hand part has 4 centred arched yard entrance flanked by
small semi-circular headed passage entries, all with projecting imposts
and keystones. 2 windows, sashes 4 panes wide, recessed with block sills
and keystones over to upper floors. The right hand part has 2 recessed sashes,
3 panes wide, block sills, keystones over. Some original timber framing
visible inside court at side. The mews buildings in court are of 2 storeys
stuccoed, and formerly had 4 windows 1st floor, 3 on ground floor and 2
doors, one 5 panel the other 4 panel with 3 pane fanlights. All this part
has been modernised but the 3 ground floor windows remain, grouped
together, the centre sash 4 panes wide, the outer ones 3 panes, all in moulded
flush frames.
