Dated 1737 on rain water head. 3 storeys and cellars. Rusticated ashlar
ground floor on projecting plinth, with deep stone strings at lst and 2nd
floor levels and over 2nd floor windows, stuccoed parapet with moulded stone
coping. Upper part brick framed with stone pilasters, with strings biting
over. Slightly projecting central feature with narrow vertical stone edging,
parapet breaking forward over, and central panel with stone surround, the
head of 2nd floor panel formed by string. The 1st floor panel segmental
headed. On ground floor, central 6-panel door with plain arched fanlight,
plain architrave and keystone, and surround of narrow pilasters double scroll
brackets and segmental moulded stone hood. Hipped slate roof. 4 windows
to 2nd floor, with flat stone surrounds and keystones. 2 Palladian windows
on 1st floor, the central window, flat headed, with square Ionic piers and
entablature with convex frieze. Architrave to arch over with solid stone
tympanum. 4 windows on ground floor in arched recesses with radiating voussoirs
and keystones. 2 cellar windows. All glazing bars altered. The back of
the house is brick with stone quoins and window surrounds. 3 windows and
later one-storey addition. Fine cast lead rainwater heads on ends at back
of house. Good lion head brass knocker and handles. Contemporary panelling
and enriched plaster ceilings.
