Bridge over railway cutting, at SE 241 406

Public footbridge over cutting on Leeds to Thirsk Railway. 1845-49;
Engineer, Thomas Grainger. Coursed rock-faced sandstone. Semicircular arch
with rusticated voussoirs (those at apex on north side apparently of render
on brick; perhaps repaired); 2 tie-plates near the apex; battered piers
flanking the arch; roll-moulded cornice, parapet with flat coping surmounted
by modern iron railings. Included for group value.
