Artisans' cottages. 1909-1910'. Barry Parker and Raymond Unwin. Painted pebbledash with relieving arches to ground-floor openings; brick to round-arched cross passage on centre line; weatherboarding to gable heads of half dormers. Hipped roofs; the eaves are not swept as elsewhere and are noteworthy for this very reason, giving the elevation a high and upright appearance. Two storeys. Eleven-window range. Vernacular Revival style, here made bilaterally symmetrical; dormers to ranges two, three, nine and ten. Remaining first-floor lights are single or double square lights tucked under exposed rafters. Entrances with doors of original design flanking passage and in outer ranges. Two-light ground-floor windows on axis with first-floor dormers. Identical elevation to that found on Nos. 83-89 Willifield Way odd (q.v.), and along with this group and Nos. 77, 79 and 81 between, set well back from the line of the pavement to enclose a green. Part of group formed by Nos. 57-111 odd (q.v.) and Nos. 70-124 even (odd) Willifield Way, the former designed by Parker and Unwin and the latter by Hubbard and Moore. This section of Willifield Way is a most important example of a streetscape laid out according to Parker and Unwin principles.
