House. c1780 with mid-C19 alterations. Rendered, millstone grit dressings,
stone slate roof. Central staircase plan. Garden front: 2 storeys, 3 bays.
Central entrance within wooden trellised porch, plain surround, 9 panel door,
blocked fanlight. Flanking ground floor and outer 2 upper floor windows are
2-light flat faced mullioned. Central upper floor single light window; sashes.
Chamfered quoins. Moulded modillioned eaves cornice (probably mid C19) broken
in centre by round headed dormer window with fixed light; open pediment above
supported on scrolled brackets with ball finial (also probably mid-C19). Large
kneelers and ball finials. Projecting gable end ridge stacks. House enlarged
mid-cl9 by flanking one storey one bay pavilion which breaks forward, of ashlar.
Large window to gable end of each wing with moulded surround. Pilasters support
open pediment. Exposed purlins to projecting eaves. Left-hand return contains
canted bay window; sashes. Rear: refronted mid-C19, with c1860 gabled porch.
Chamfered round head, open pediment and ball finial. Chamfered surround to
entrance, 4 panel door, upper 2 glazed with Gothic revival glazing. Similar
but blind tracery above. Interior: dog-leg staircase with open string, stick
balusters, ramped handrail.
