House. Late C17. Coursed gritstone rubble, graduated stone slate roof.
2 storeys, 2 bays, end-lobby entry plan. Board door to right in alternate
quoined surround, lintel with shallow 4-centred arch. Two 2-light recessed-
chamfered mullion windows with hoodmoulds to left and to first floor without
hoodmoulds. The jamb stones to all windows have an additional lower piece
suggesting that the windows have been made deeper. Shaped kneeler and gable
coping to left, end stacks. Rear: projecting semicircular staircase bay to
centre, with blocked single-light window. Single-light fire window far
left; inserted window right. Interior: original main fireplace opposite
door now partly blocked. Ceiling beams have scarfed joints indicating an
original timber-framed firehood. Chamfered ceiling beams and joists with
run-out stops. Stone spiral stair. Additional flanking bays mid - late C19
not of special interest.
