Lamp post. Approximately 70m east of railway bridge. c1901.
Probably moved from the Promenade where they were designed as
'Tall Twins' to rise above the trees. Probably designed by the
Borough Engineer, Joseph Hall, and cast by Messrs Hardy and
Padmore of Worcester at a cost of ยป12.17.6. Cast-iron. Square
plinth with armorial bollards, shaped base enriched with
gadrooning, band of anthemion motifs, an amulet with pigeons
in relief. Designed for electricity.
Forms a pair with Lamp post to east of Shelburne Road
Junction, Lansdown Road (north side) (qv).
