Villa, now flat, office and house. c1830-50. Stucco over brick
with concealed roof, left end and ridge stucco stacks with
cornices and rear brick stack, with iron verandah.
EXTERIOR: garden front: 2 storeys, 5 first-floor windows, of
which the 3 central windows break forward, with
single-tall-storey, single bay to left and entrance porch to
right return. Stucco detailing includes plinth, first-floor
band which interrupts end Doric pilasters to main range and
breakforward, with 2 Ionic pilasters to either side of central
window, surmounted by architrave, frieze and cornice;
alternate first-floor windows have frieze and cornice on
corbels, sills throughout. Range at left has plinth and wide
segmental arch on pilasters. 6/6 sashes throughout, those to
first floor have blind boxes. Entrance to right return has
open domed porch with ball finial has Doric pilasters and
round-arches to each side, panelled door. Rear has tall 4/4
staircase sash with margin-lights and radial glazing to head.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: main range ground-floor verandah has
embellished uprights.
Part of the former Lansdowne Estate, a notable example of
suburban town planning.
