Large House now residential home. C17 house with restoration
and extensive additions of C19. Square-panel box framing,
header bond brick additions and slate roofs. 3 x 1 bay with 2
storeys, now entered through large C19 additions, also of 2
storeys. Stone plinth, first floor overhangs and has coved
jetties on three sides. Gable over bay 2 also has a coved
jetty with ovolo-moulded bressumer and decorative gable
treatment. Original 5-light ovolo-moulded mullion and transom
window to each floor of bay 1. The other bays and side
elevations each have larger 3 or 4-light C19 replacement
windows. End gables are largely C19 with decorative framing,
bargeboards and finials. The left has 3 such gables 2 of
which may be replacements for what existed previously.
Interior: 2 rooms on ground floor each with chamfered beams
with stepped stops. Ovolo-moulded door lintel with the
initials "HDK" and (an unreadable) date which appears to be
1716. The C19 part has 2 rooms with ornate plasterwork
ceilings, a fine inglenook fireplace and some stained glass.
