Plaque to Thomas Guy Frederick Paget of Ibstock and Sulby, Justice of the Peace, Doctor of Laws, Member of Parliament, Chief Counsel, Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. Major, Royal Scots Guards and Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Flying Officer, Royal Air Force. b. 29th Jul 1886 d. 12th Mar 1952 He tried to do his duty from boyhood to the day of his death on the hunting field. Shield of arms: Argent a cross engrailed between in the 1st and 4th quarters an escallop sable (Paget) impaling Gules on a pale or, a squirrel sejant in chief and in base a Moors head couped proper (Des Voeux, for his wife Bettine) Below is another plaque: -This chapel was restored by Major Guy Paget and Bettine his wife in memory of one hundred and one men of Welford who fought in the Great War 1914 to 1919 twenty seven of whom were killed; and of Dorothy Roberts of Sulby Voluntary Aid Detachment Hospital who died at her post-.
