Dedicated in grateful remembrance to Fredrick Cox, Surgeon by a large number of his friends AD MDCCCLXIII. Upper panels Lto R: They took the body of Jesus. Since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there (John 19.40 to 42). Forgive them Father for they know not what they do (Luke 23.34). He is not here but is risen (Luke 24.6). Lower panels, all concerning resurrection: Give me thy son (Elijah, from 1 Kings 17.20 to 22). He touched the bier (Jesus from Luke 7.14 to 15). Tabitha arise (Peter from Acts 9.40).
