Circa 1830-35 early Ventnor villa. Gothic details. 2 storeys crazed rubble, quoins
and buttressed ground floor. 3 window front, outer windows in 3 storey gabled
breaks with saddlestones and kneelers, narrow parapeted centre. Steep slate roof
with grouped diagonally set chimneys. 2 light lancet casement windows with drip
moulds in gables. Central 1st floor glazing bar sash with drip mould over; outer
1st floor windows as Gothic French casements, cornices on consoles over, giving
onto cast iron Gothic pattern balconettes in wood drop finial frames. The balconettes
are supported on brackets above small, marginal Gothic glazed, rectangular bay
windows. Central glazed gabled porch with Gothic marginal glazing psttern. Doorway
proper has 4 centred arch with flanking shafts. Picturesque in garden setting.
