Circa 1840/50 villa. Three storeys and basement rendered, painted. Pilaster
flanking front and sides. Plinth. Low pitch hipped slate roof with bracketed
projecting eaves. Three windows, centre ones blind, recessed, sash, only one
with glazing bars intact. Shouldered architrave surrounds, moulded sills on
block consoles. But the ground floor windows have block cornice and narrow
panels between sill consoles. Small basement areas have bowed railings with
spear heads. Recessed central door is modern. Splayed reveals and plain
surround Porch with freestanding Ionic columns resting on parapets either
side of flight of four steps, and Doric pilasters to wall. Entablature has
egg and dart band and dentil cornice, blocking course over. Two storey
wing of one window set back to East.
North garden front: flanking pilasters. Three windows, two in shallow bow
to West, ground floor of bow projects in later addition. Most of glazing
bars intact. To the East: superimposed wooden bay windows to ground and
first floors of three lights each, sash, the first floor one with glazing
bars intact, Doric pilasters, frieze and cornice, panelled apron. The ground
floor one has plain dividing strips and narrow lights inserted in frieze.
The wing on this front has three storeys, one window, some of glazing bars
intact, ground floor window gives on to dog leg flight steps with mid C19
cast iron balustrade.
