Formerly kennels and kennel house, now a garden and a shed: dated
1867 for the 2nd Lord Stanley. English garden wall bond red brick
with pink sandstone dressings, purple tile roof and 1 brick chimney.
South gable of kennel house is crow-stepped with stone flag caps and a
weathervane above. Gable has a 3-light chamfered stone-mullioned
window with applied lead glazing. Above is date stone with a
diamond-shaped tile with the Stanley Arms and a small circular pitch
hole. 5-board door in west front has a rough brick segmental head
approached by 2 stone steps.
Interior: has cast-iron grate and copper boiler for the dogs' mash.
Square kennel yard surrounded by brick wall with a triangular stone
coping. Higher stone entrance has a 4-centred arched head to a
6-board door. Interior is now a flagged walled garden.
