House. c.1833-36, renovated late C20. Brown and grey brick in
Flemish bond (grey headers), slate roof. Double-depth
double-fronted plan with back extension. Two storeys over
cellars, 3 windows, symmetrical; steps up to round-headed
doorway with panelled door and fanlight with later leaded
tracery; 12-pane sashed windows (restored). Interior:
stick-baluster staircase; original fireplace in front room
right, of pale mottled marble with semicircular arched
opening, keystone and panelled spandrels, decorated cast-iron
grate. History: part of small speculative development by flour
dealer who acquired the site of Moon Grove in 1833. Forms
group with Nos 5 and 7 (q.v.) and No.6 (q.v.).
