Barn. Probably mid C18; altered. Red brick in English garden
wall bond (4+1) on sandstone plinth, with sandstone dressings
and composition tile roof. Rectangular 6-bay plan, the 6th
partitioned from the main range (probably a former stable);
with rusticated quoins; a waggon entrance to the 3rd bay (the
centre of the main range) with a shallow splayed porch under a
carried-down roof to the left, an inserted or altered doorway
to the 1st bay, and an altered square loading door (or loft
window) in the 2nd bay; and to the right, a doorway to each of
the other 3 bays, all with stone surrounds and lintels with
raised pseudo-voussoirs and keystones, and 2 square loading
doors above (the 2nd with an external shutter and 4-pane
glazing). Later additions at both ends; rear covered by large
C20 sheds. Forms group with Ottershead Farmhouse approx. 15
metres east (q.v.).
