Farmhouse. Mid C18, altered. Red brick in Flemish bond on
sandstone plinth, with sandstone dressings and stone slate
roof. Rectangular double-depth plan with added service wing to
rear. Two storeys with attics, 2 windows, symmetrical, with a
high plinth of large dressed blocks, and rusticated quoins.
The doorway has a pedimented doorcase with banded pilasters,
triglyphs on the lintel, a pulvinated frieze, and a C20
panelled door. The windows are unhorned 12-pane sashes with
raised sills and wedge lintels. Gable chimneys. The left gable
has an altered attic window; the rear wall is of dressed stone
blocks up to 1st floor level, incorporating a lintel with
raised keystone over an altered doorway, and has two 3-light
sliding sash stair-windows in the centre, and various altered
windows. Forms group with associated barn approx. 15 metres to
the west (q.v.).
