Terrace of 6 houses. 1784. By Thomas Paty. Stucco with
limestone dressings, gable stacks and a pantile mansard roof.
Double-depth plan. Late Georgian style. Each of 3 storeys,
attic and basement; 2-window range. A stepped terrace has
pilasters to a moulded coping. Left-hand semicircular-arched
doorways have brackets to pediments, fanlights and 6-panel
doors. Single ground-floor 8/8-pane sashes, 6/6-panes to the
first floor and 3/3-panes to the attic. Segmental-arched
basement doorways, and dormers. No.1 turns the corner, with a
window to the left of the doorway, and a C19 shop front in
Trenchard Street with banded ashlar surround to paired
ground-floor windows with imposts, and a corner doorway. Above
the door is a small pediment, and canted first- and
second-floor corner windows with 6/6-pane sashes to each side.
