Mid C18. Ordered by the 9th ("architect") Earl of Pembroke to be built
"after the Roman fashion" of large rubble blocks with wide brick bands and
weathered stone capping. From River Nadder to north at bottom of gardens
of No 27 South Street (qv) then following the stream at the bottom of the
gardens of Nos 4 Silver Street, Nos 19 (qv) and (not included) 20 Kingsbury
Square. Repaired in places.
