House. Mid C18. Red Flemish bond brick with a plaintile roof. Two
storeys and attic. Road front: 5 bays symmetrically disposed. To the
ground floor at centre is a classical door surround with a door of 8
panels, the lower 6 being raised and fielded and the upper 2 glazed with a
panelled pedimental surround. To either side of this are C19 sash windows
of 2 x 2 panes and to the first floor are 4 similar windows, all having
splayed brick heads with a central arched sash window which has ashlar
springers and keystone. Dentilled eaves cornice. Three gabled dormer
windows with lead flashing to the sides, all having sash windows of 3 x 2
panes. Left hand gable end: two ground floor sash windows and two blank
windows at first floor level and a band of 3 bricks depth dividing the
floors. An extension of the dentilled eaves cornice continues across this
front below the gable. Extending at left of this gable end is a 2-storey
wing with randon fenestration to the rear of the house. The right hand
gable end is similar. Attached at either side of the entrance front are
crescent-shaped forecourt walls of c. 3.5 m in height. That at right
terminating in a roadside garage. That at left extending to form a garden
wall of c.15 m length.
Interior: not inspected. The property is reported as having a C16 core.
