Bank. c1910. Brick with ashlar dressings; graduated slate
roof. Georgian Revival style. 2 storeys; symmetrical 5-window
range. Rusticated plinth and top entablature, with egg and
dart to cornice, and balustrade; coped gables. Entrance to
left end has architrave, frieze with lettering: LLOYDS BANK/
CHAMBERS, paired fielded-panel doors, 12-pane overlight with
architrave, frieze and consoled cornice; entrance to right has
architrave with bead and reel moulding, frieze and consoled
cornice; overlight with fishscale glazing and paired
fielded-panel doors, panel above has black-horse badge.
Windows to ground floor have architraves, friezes and consoled
cornices to 12/8-pane horned sashes altered for insertion of
cashpoints; 1st floor has architraved windows with 16-pane
horned sashes. Plaster band over ground floor with letters:
LLOYDS BANK. INTERIOR: fluted pilasters on plinths and
panelled ceiling with bead and reel to mouldings. Included for
group value.
