Farmhouse.
II
Pair of Farmhouses. Early C18, two builds Rubble gritstone to right
part, coursed squared gritstone to left part. Stone slate roofs. 2 storeys,
2 bays to right, 3 bays to left. Right house : plinth, quoins. Central
door in bonded ashlar surround flanked by C20 casements on both floors inserted
into altered square-faced surrounds. Corniced ashlar end stacks. Left
house : quoins to left. Board door between bays 2 and 3 in bonded ashlar
surround, flanking 3-light wood casements on each floor inserted in square-
faced stone surrounds, window to left of door has altered sill. Ground floor
bay 1 has altered surrounds to door and 3-light casement beneath old inserted
wood lintel, 3-light casement above. Corniced ashlar stacks to each end of
each house, another ridge stack to left house. Rear : partial outshut to
left house. Remains of double-chamfered mullion windowsto right house, gabled
wing to rear. Left return of range : lean-to not of special interest.
