Two houses. Late C17/early C18. Timber-framed and rendered
with gabled roof of clay plain tiles. 2 storeys with attics
and cellars.
EXTERIOR: symmetrical front with C20 flat-roofed dormer with
2-light casement and cross pattern of glazing bars. Coved and
moulded eaves and gutter on metal stays. First floor has
5-window range of double-hung sash windows with small panes
and moulded surrounds. Ground floor has 4 smaller but similar
windows and open pedimented door case. This has reeded
pilasters and recessed door with 6 raised-and-fielded panels
above 3 steps. Reeded band above door and semicircular
fanlight with petal-like subdivisions. Door to No.32 has C20
pediment on brackets and early C19 five-panel door. 3-storey
stair tower on rear with hipped clay plain tile roof.
INTERIOR: entrance passage has semicircular rear arch with
keystone and panelled pilasters. Mid C18 dogleg staircase with
barley-sugar balusters in first flight. Turned balusters at
first floor and plain boarded panels to attic level.
