Farmhouse, now house, and attached open-fronted shed. Mid C18
with early C17 nucleus and late C18 alterations and additions.
Brick and timber-framing; tile roofs with brick end stacks.
L-plan house and L-plan shed forming U-plan. 2 storeys with
attic; symmetrical 3-window range with 2-storey,
single-window, wing to right return. Top moulded brick cornice
with modillioned cornice to wing. Round-headed entrance has
doorcase with C19 porch, fluted posts support open pediment;
fanlight with radial glazing bars over C19 6-panel door.
Windows have brick sills, and rubbed brick flat arches over
16-pane sashes, central 1st floor 12-pane sash; 3 hipped
dormers with casements. Projecting end stacks. Wing has
12-pane sash and 1st floor 6-pane sash. Rear has windows with
3-light transomed casements with ovolo moulding over late C20
addition (currently being built, 1991); wing has
segmental-headed windows; lean-to projection to inner return
with 3-light transomed casement and entrance with heavy pegged
frame to battened door; other windows with casements and one
dormer; single-storey wing to rear has entrance plank door and
C20 gabled dormers.
INTERIOR: chamfered beams, front range with broadly chamfered
beams, some stop-chamfered, and large fireplace with
stop-chamfered bressumer and brick smoke hood, the back wall
removed in mid C20; late C20 staircase. 10-bay shed with 6-bay
return, probably shelter shed for cattle; square framing on
brick plinth with tension braces, renewed tile roof with
hipped end; entrance to left end; rear has timber posts on
stone pads; return has rounded brick piers. Tie-beam and
collar trusses with principals crossed at apex.
