Town house with shop. Probably C18 on C16 site; front
remodelled late C19. Stucco on studwork to front; dry slate
roof; modillions to eaves fascia; brick stack on left. Deep
plan including rear wing; 2 storeys; 2-window range. Late C19
four-pane sashes to 1st floor within moulded wooden
architraves over late C19 four-light shop front with
segmental-headed lights and 4-panel door on the left;
pilasters and full-width fascia with moulded cornice. Rear
wing has overall 3-window range facing courtyard of Bank
Cottages (not included) and 29A (qv). 27A is the right-hand
part with irregular 2-window range; timber lintels over the
openings. INTERIOR of rear of Nos 27 & 27A inspected c1980
when oak truss of C16 roof structure, with curved feet,
morticed collar and threaded purlins, was visible.
