Semi-detached houses. Oakdale is late C17, with small early/mid C18 addition on
left; Lynhurst dated 1764. Mid C18 arid late C20 alterations. Oakdale is of
coursed ironstone rubble; addition of red bricks. Concrete tile roof with coped
gable parapets on left; C19 left and C20 right brick end stacks. L-plant cross
wing on right projects to rear and forms Lynhurst. 2 storeys; 4-window range.
C20 part-glazed door in second bay; C19 open porch has shaped pierced
bargeboards. Mid C20 three-light and 2-light casements with glazing bars have
painted wood lintels on ground floor. First floor windows raised, with
continuous slight break above eaves. Addition has C20 garage doors on left. Sash
under gauged brick flat arch with painted keystone. Interior: room on left has
wide open fireplace and bressumer with C18 moulded cornice. Ogee stop-chamfered
ceiling beams. Built-in cupboards have fielded panelled doors with H-hinges. Mid
C18 quarter-turn staircase with winders has turned balusters and moulded
handrail. 2-panel and 3-plant: doors with strap hinges. First floor has timber
framed partitions. Some oak panelling. Lynhurst is of squared coursed ironstone;
front rendered. C20 tile roof; C20 brick ridge and internal stacks. 2 storeys
and attic; one-window range. Entrance in right return side. C20 bow window.
First floor has 16-pane sash. Gable has C20 window with glazing bars. Right
return side is irregular 3-window range. C20 part-glazed door and verandah. C19
two and 3-light casements with single horizontal glazing bar. C18/C19 sash of 4
x 3 panes. Datestone has initials I.M.E. Interior not inspected.
