House, formerly cottages and baker's shop, and attached bakery. C16 origins;
raised and shop added early C19; bakery early/mid C19. Coursed ironstone rubble.
Gable ends of main range have raised crucks with large framing with lath and
plaster infill. Raised and extended in red brick, colour-washed to front;
addition has brick dentil cornice. Corrugated iron roofs; main range has C19
brick end stacks. L-plan extended to T-plan, with wing to rear. 2 storeys;
2-window main range, one-window addition at lower level on left. Central C20
plank door and blocked doorway. Addition has C19 plank door. 3-light casements
with glazing bars throughout. Main range has painted wood lintels on ground
floor. Addition has C20 casement with large painted wood lintel on ground floor,
and an old casement above. Rear irregular. Interior: room on left has open
fireplace with chamfered bressumer. Remains of bread oven. Ground floor has 2
ogee stop-chamfered ceiling beams. Old 3-plank doors with L- and strap higes. 2
old quarter turn staircases with winders. Stud partitions, and an old stud and
plank half-height partition. Through purlin roof. Bakery attached to rear wing.
Brick. Tile roof; brick stack. Plank door. Casement. Interior: large bread oven.
