11/86 Home Farm House

GV II

Farmhouse, now house. C17/C18 back range, probably raised late C18; front range
c.1830. Regular coursed limestone; front of Flemish bond red brick with
limestone quoins, string course, moulded cornice and parapet. Slate roofs have
coped gable parapets; brick end stacks. L-plan, with wing on right to rear.
Classical style. Front 2 storeys, rear 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range.
Symmetrical. Moulded fielded 6-panelled door and overlight with decorative
glazing. Panelled intrados. Fine Roman Doric moulded wood doorcase with
pilasters. C19 horned 12-paned sashes have painted stone rusticated flat arches
with keystones. Rear irregular. Interior noted as having mahogany straight
flight staircase with shaped string and moulded handrail.
