8/313 Broxmore Farmhouse
II
Detached house. Early C17, late C17 wing. Square-panelled timber-
framing with brick nogging, some in herringbone patterns, tiled
roof, grouped brick stack, central to earlier range. Originally
baffle-entry plan, now L-plan. 2-storey. 1-window front to late
C17 range; planked door in heavy beaded case, 3-light casement to
left with relieving arch, first floor has 2-light casement.
Earlier range to right has 16-pane sash, 3-light casement to hipped
dormer. Left return wall has all-over lozenge diaper pattern, 3-
light casement to ground, first and attic floors, outshut to left
has 2-light casement. Rear outshut has two hipped dormers, single-
storey extension has planked door 2-light casements and hipped
roof. Rear of earlier build has two C20 patio doors, one leaded
casement to attic; this wall rebuilt c1800 in Flemish garden wall
bond.
Interior said to have chamfered beams and exposed joists, open
fireplace with chamfered lintel and brick jambs, timber-framed
partition between outshut and wing. (Unpublished records of RCHM
