Cottage. Dated 1733 with minor later additions and alterations. Red
brick; slate roof. 3-unit baffle-entry plan with short range to rear
on left forming L-plan. One storey and attic with dentilled eaves cornice.
Segmental-headed C19 casements to either side of boarded door under gabled
hood to left of centre with contemporary gabled eaves dormers directly
above. Red brick ridge stack directly above entrance at junction with
rear range which has truncated external end stack with lean-to below,
probably housing bread oven. Datestone to right gable end of main range
largely illegible at time of resurvey (January 1987) but apparently reading
"D/WN/1733". Interior. Inspection not possible at time of resurvey (January 1987)
but left ground-floor room noted as having chamfered spine beam and heavy
joists and 2 chamfered spine beams in room to right of stack. Included
as a dated and largely complete example of an early C18 cottage.
