The Callow

II

Cottage. Late C17 early C18 with probably later C18 or C19 alterations
and additions and C20 addition. Timber framed with painted brick nogging;
coursed sandstone rubble end wall and refaced and partly rebuilt in
painted brick to right; C20 asbestos slate roof. 2 framed bays aligned
approximately north-south at right angles to road with later addition
to south. Framing: light rectangular panels. One storey and attic
with 2 storey addition. West front: integral brick end stack to right
and brick ridge stack off-centre to right; C19 gabled semi-dormer off-centre
to right with 4-pane sash and scalloped barge boards. First-floor
C19 two-light wooden casement to right; 3 ground-floor C20 two-light
wooden casements; two C20 glazed doors between first and second windows
from left with C20 lean-to glazed porch. C20 lean-to addition at rear.
Interior not inspected.
