House. C17 or earlier, with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations. Timber-
framed with painted brick and rendered infill, brick refacing and replace-
ment walling and plain tiled roof. Three framed bays aligned east/west with
large chimney to east of central bay and brick ridge stack. Two storeys.
Framing: three panels from girding-beam to wall-plate; collar and tie-beam
truss at east gable end with four struts beneath collar and V-strut in apex;
queen post truss at west gable end, the posts are joined by a rail with a
central strut beneath and a V-strut in the apex. North front elevation:
3-light ground floor casement with plank weathering; first floor has a 2-
light casement and a rectangular light; stable door to right and main
entrance to left with a C19 gabled timber porch on brick base with leaded
glass infill at sides; C20 door. Interior not inspected but noted as having
large fireplace and cross-beamed ceiling in central bay. Lean-to additions
at gable ends and at rear. The house is situated to the south-west of the
churchyard of the Church of St John the Baptist (qv).
