House. C17 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations. Timber-framed, painted
brick and rendered infill, brick refacing, plain tiled roof. Single framed
bay aligned north-west/south-east; large external chimney with detached
stack at south-east gable end. Single storey and attic with dormers.
fill: two and three panels from sill to wall-plate; collar and tie-beam
trusses; two struts to collar and V-strut in apex at north-west gable end;
south-east truss refaced and painted to resemble framing. South elevation:
ground floor has a 2-light casement and a rectangular light; one gabled
dormer with 2-light casement. Interior: framing appears intact; winder
staircase at north-west end. A single-bay single-storey addition encloses
the external chimney; it has a lean-to extension on the south side with a
3-light casement and a 4-panelled door-which is now the main entrance. Also
lean-to addition at north-west gable end and at rear. The house is situated
to the west of the old village pound.
