Public road bridge and lock, c.1790. Robert Whitworth, engineer. Dressed
stone. Single segmental arch with rusticated voussoirs, band and solid parapet
both pitched at the midpoint. Curving abutments and in piers. The footings are
the prolonged retaining walls of the lock, which are of dressed stone rebated
for gates.
