Italianate bank building of 1864 by W Hawe. Three storeys, fronted in ashlar.
Crowned by curved segmental pediment with blank strapwork labels and leaf
finial. Cornice supported on brackets. Four windows, round heads, moulded
dripmoulds with carved finials, the cills being supported on a cornice which
supports consoles at the bases of the pilasters dividing the bays and at ends.
The first floor windows form a continuous arcade with non-classical Ionic half-
columns with swags. Narrow balcony at first floor cill height on carved
consoles. Three windows to ground floor, the centre one shortened, and a door-
way, attached non-classical half columns. Included as part of a group.
