Shops and offices. Mid C19 with later alterations. Red brick with painted stone
dressings and Welsh slate roof. Three storeys, plus attics and 3 bay return to
Lairgate. Saturday Market elevation has recessed rounded corner bay to first
and second floors . C20 shop fronts across full width of ground floor. Heavily
moulded sill stringcourse above shop front of No 61. Three 4 pane first floor
sashes ,central one in pilastered surround with decorated segmental pediment, side
ones to small square oriel bay windows with pilastered surrounds and scrolled
pediments. Rounded corner bay to right with round headed casement in pilastered
surround with keyed archivolt. Heavily moulded second floor sill stringcourse
and 3 similar round headed casements in pilastered surrounds with side scrolls to
base and moulded imposts. Similar window with keyed archivolt to surround, to
corner bay. Dentilled cornice with elaborate brackets. Slate roof hipped to
right corner, brick ridge stack.. Old waste elevation has paired 4 pane sashes in
arched architrave bay 3 and blocked pilaster doorcase to bay 4 with curved shop
front attached to right. Heavily moulded sill stringcourse to 5 first floor C20
round headed casements in pilaster surrounds with keyed archivolts, those to bay
2 paired. 5 similar second floor windows in similar surrounds similar cornice as
to Saturday Market. Mansard roof with 3 round headed dormers. Lairgate elevation has
blind recesses below flat arches to first and second floor, similar stringcourses and cornice.
