9/290 Wormsland Cottage

GV II

House. Possibly C17 or early C18. Rendered stone rubble and cob. Steeply pitched
roof with gable ends; originally thatched being replaced with corrugated iron in the
circa 1930s. Brick shafts to end stacks.
Plan: Two room and cross or through passage plan heated by end stacks with ground
sloping down to left. Up to the circa 1930s the house was divided into two one-room
plan cottages heated by end stacks and sharing a central staircase.
It is uncertain whether this was the original plan.
Exterior: Two storeys. Roughly symmetrical 3-window front with entrance in centre.
C19 or early C20 door flanked by 2 C19 or C20 2-light casements to right and left.
Three probably C19 2-light casements on first floor. Circa early C20 lean-to porch
extension on front left.
Interior: Not inspected.
