Turnpike keeper's cottage. Circa mid C19. Rendered walls. Scantle slate roofs;
main roof canted at the front, flanking roof at lower level with gable ends. Cast-
iron ogee gutters.
Plan: 3 rooms, the central room with canted front and chamber, the other rooms in
flanking single storey wings.
Exterior : Overall nearly symmetrical 5 window south front (ground floor). Doorway
on right hand side of left hand wing. Canted 2-storey bay in the middle with windows
in the splays. Central ground floor window probably in original doorway position.
C20 door; 4-pane horned sashes.
Interior not inspected.
Lying near the right hand end is one of the original gate piers, a large chamfered
granite monolith with iron pin-tail top hanging.
