Farmhouse. Probably C17 with later alterations. Sandstone rubble plinth
and timber-frame with brick infill. Welsh slate roof. Sandstone rubble
and brick stack. T-plan of three by two bays with cross-wing at west end.
Cellar, two storeys and attic. South elevation has 0:1 windows, gable front
to left. Gable front has a 3-light early C20 casement to attic and a
similar window to ground floor. Plinth has central square opening with two
diagonal oak mullions to cellar. Main range has gabled dormer with 3-light
casement to left-hand side and a small 2-light leaded casement to first floor
to right of centre. Ground floor has two casements, each of three lights,
the right one in wrought iron and probably late C18 or early C19. At extreme
right-hand side is a 2-light casement. Central mid-C19 ledged door. Frame
of main range has three square panels from cill to wall-plate with angle struts
from main wall-posts to wall-plate. Cross-wing has three to four panels from
cill to wall-plate. Interior inaccessible at time of re-survey (November 1986)
(RCHM, Vol III, p 135).
