House. C18 with late C19 and C20 alteration and extension. Sandstone
ashlar, whitewashed; whitewashed brick extension to right; slate roof; stone
stacks. Originally central stairhall plan, 2 rooms deep; later extensions
to left and, in two stages, to right. 2-storey, symmetrical 3-window front,
flanked by single bay extension. Entrance front (originally rear): Central
recessed 6-panel door with panelled reveals and traceried fanlight under
Doric portico; wrought iron balcony rail above, in honeysuckle pattern.
16-pane sashes in late C19 architraves to either side and in flanking walls.
Round-headed radial-glazed staircase window over entrance. Garden front:
similar to entrance front with half-glazed, panelled door beneath 16-pane
sash to first floor centre. End stacks to hipped roof. Interior: Reeded
round-arched architraves with festoons to all unround floor hall doors.
Panelled reveals to all ground floor windows and to staircase window.
Dogleg staircase with shaped cheekpieces, moulded handrail and reeded turned
balusters.
