House. Late C16, extended in C17 and C20. Timber framed, mainly plastered,
some painted brick in Flemish bond, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 4 bays
facing E, with axial chimney stack in second bay from left end, forming a lobby-
entrance plan. One-bay extension to front of left bay, C17, with chimney stack
in left front corner. C20 single-storey extension to right. 2 storeys. In
left wing, one-window range of C18 sashes of 20 lights. Main range faced with
brick, 3 C19/20 sashes of 6 lights on ground floor, 2 on first floor. All front
windows have louvred shutters. Half-glazed door in fluted architrave, with C20
gabled porch. The interior has chamfered axial beams with lamb's tongue stops,
exposed plain joists of horizontal section, some exposed heavy studding with
near-straight bracing trenched inside, jowled posts, clasped purlin roof with
curved wind bracing. Weathered studding of main wall exposed in front
extension. Late C18/early C19 corner cupboard in front extension. Formerly
Blue Pale Farm. RCHM 20.
