Farmhouse with two attached farmbuildings. Probably late C17 extended in late C18.
Granite rubble. Rag slate roofs to outbuildings and scantle slate roof on front
slope of farmhouse with some early crested ridge tiles. Granite ashlar stacks with
moulded granite caps.
Plan: Farmhouse of two room and cross or through passage plan, heated by end stacks
with cloam oven projection to end stack on right. The house is built down the slope
with the lower end on right. In circa late C18 a shippon with loft above was built
into the bank on the higher left hand side and a shippon with loft above was built on
the lower right hand side. C20 extension added to rear of house.
Exterior: Two storeys. Ground slopes down to right. The house has an almost
symmetrical front with C20 glazed porch near centre flanked by C20 2-light window on
left and C20 3-light casement on right, both with granite strings above the window
openings and with dressed stone voussoirs. Three C20 2-light casements on first
floor. The barn to left has wide plank doors to opening. The two-storey barn to
right has a door to left with small opening on right and two small openings on first
floor.
Interior: Fireplaces remain intact but have been covered over (information from
owner).
