2 cottages and coopers, now 1 cottage. 1860 datestone and mid-C18. Rubble stone and
cob, whitewashed with asbestos slate roof with gabled ends. Brick stack near centre and
on left-hand gable end. Originally 2 rooms with cross passage, extended with store on
right-hand gable end. Cottage with 2 rooms built on left-hand gable end slightly set
back circa mid C18. Earlier cottage extended to rear in mid C19 to form double pile plan.
Rear used as coopers.
2 Storeys, 2 window front to each build. Right-hand side asymmetrical, ground floor with
2 light casement with glazing bars on left and 16-pane fixed casement on right of timber
stable door. 2 centre hung 2-light C19 casements above with glazing bars. All under
timber lintels. Left-hand build regular 2 window front with C19 timber sash 8 panes per
sash to left of panelled door with slate hood. 2 sashes 8 panes each sash without horns
above. Exposed sash boxes. Slightly lower eaves then earlier cottage.
Chamfered timber beams with run-out stops to right-hand room of earlier cottage. On
left-hand gable end of earlier cottage, above door on interior, decorated plasterwork
to lintel with date 1680 with heart. 2 arrows and initials within as traditional
celebration for newly wedded couples. Roof timbers not accessible.
