Canal lock, circa 1826 (consultant T.Telford). Blue brick in English
Bond, and sandstone with metal and wood gates. Upper gate metal with
wooden beam, lower gates all wood. Heavy sandstone dressing to
approach walls but lock-side copings now mainly replaced by concrete
blocks.
