Lodge. Late C19. Brick with Bath stone dressings, slate gabled roof. Irregular plan with cross gable and hexagonal entrance lobby on east with pyramid roof rising above main roof, extending on right to form projecting covered gabled entrance porch, supported on two pairs of shaped rectangular wood columns with moulded bases and heads. One storey. Brick and stone chamfered plinth, large overhanging eaves and verges with ornately carved bargeboards; four tall chimneys with moulded bases and partly re-built shafts. Windows mostly three-light casements with two horizontal glazing bars. Panelled entrance door. (Bear Wood is listed separately in the Parish of Arborfield and Newland).
