Old Carr Head Farmhouse

Farmhouse, mid C19. Rendered stone with stone slate roof. Three chimneys. Two
storeys and 4 bays. Symmetrical facade in a vernacular style, with gabled cross
wings. Rusticated quoins. String to recessed central bays and hoodmoulds in each
window of the wings. Two doorways with Tudor heads next the wings. The windows are
all double chamfered of 4, 3, 3, and 4 lights on each floor. Spike finials to the
gables which have armorial plaques. Interior not inspected.
The replacement, or drastic rebuilding, of the predecessor of Carr Head Hall (qv).
