Stone, C18, now gainst wall. Inscribed on east side: "To Settle 12M"
with pointing hand; on west side "To [H]aw[orth]..". Though now much
defaced, this stone marks one of the old roads from Long Preston and
Settle to Halifax (J J Brigg, The King's Highway in Craven, 1927).
