SE 08 NE COVERHAM WITH AGGLETHORPE BRECONGILL

9/7 Farm building
approximately 10 metres
to north-west of
Brecongill House

GV II


House, now farm building. Late C17 - early C18 and late C18 - early C19.
Rubble, stone slate roof. 2-storeys with a third added in late C18 - early
C19. 1:2 first-floor windows; L-shaped plan with projection to front left.
Quoins to right of projection. Ground floor: board door in ashlar chamfered
quoined surround; 2 stable doors in ashlar surrounds. Pitching door on
first floor of projection with steps up. On ground and first floors of
projection, one bay of ashlar surround windows. On ground and first floors
of recessed section, remains of double-chamfered mullion windows, 2-light on
ground floor and on first floor 4-light, blocked to 2-light. On second
floor of recessed section, 16-pane sashes in ashlar surrounds. End stacks.
