Coach house and stables. c1800. By John Foss of Richmond. Coursed rubble
with ashlar dressings, stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 2:2:2 bays. Projecting
quoins. Central section projects slightly and has quoins. 2 elliptical-
arched coach openings with ashlar surrounds and board doors. Band. First
floor: shuttered window; pitching door with interrupted jambs. Band forming
pedimented gable. In gable, semicircular dovecote in ashlar surround with
keystone. Corniced gable. Openings in outer ranges have ashlar surrounds
with segmental-arched lintels. Between bays 1 and 2, 5 and 6, 4-panel doors
in surrounds on plinths. Ground-floor windows: part-shuttered stable
windows. First floor: hayloft openings with latticed shutters. Hipped
roofs.
